The project explored surface pavilion designs where the structure is optimized to require the least amount of material.
Development
The Final Shape was found by subtracting material on the original surface according to the parameters of structural stability. Two main factors are height and distance to surface intersection.
To generate the geometry, a script was written in Python and integrated into the Grasshopper visual framework to create two unfolding surfaces.
